Operating Instructions for MC4 Connector Tool Kit

Cut the Solar Cable as Needed

Use an appropriate cutting tool to cut the solar cable to the desired length. Ensure the cut is clean and even.

Strip the Solar Cable Insulation

Utilize the FSA-0626 wire stripper to remove the insulation from the solar cable. Adjust the stripper to the appropriate size for the cable diameter. Carefully strip off the insulation to expose the inner conductor without damaging it.

Select the Appropriate Terminal and Place it in the Crimping Die

Choose the correct MC4 connector terminal based on the cable size (2.5/4/6 mm²). Open the jaws of the LY-2546B press pliers and place the terminal into the corresponding crimping die.

Insert the Stripped Cable into the Terminal

Take the stripped solar cable and insert it into the selected MC4 connector terminal. Ensure that the exposed conductor is fully inserted into the terminal for a secure connection.

Crimpthe Terminal onto the Cable

Position the press pliers with the terminal and cable in place. Squeeze the handles of the pliers firmly until you hear a "click" sound, indicating that the crimping process is complete. This ensures a tight and reliable connection between the terminal and the cable.

Complete the Crimping Process

Release the handles of the press pliers and remove the crimped terminal and cable assembly. Inspect the crimped connection to ensure it is secure and properly formed. The cable is now ready for connection using the MC4 connectors.
